WHALE CAMP - Science and the Arts - for 9-13 year olds
Posted on Friday, May 28 @ 09:44:24 MDT by rick

For All
During July 11-17, 2010, the Port Townsend Marine Science Center partners with Centrum arts foundation for a week of discovery focused on whales of the Salish Sea.  Campers will conduct hydrophone research, assemble a grey whale skeleton, create sound and movement works inspired by whales, and help conduct a forensic science investigation of a beached whale.  Classes take place on local beaches, in PTMSC laboratories, aquarium and natural history exhibit, and in Centrum's art and performance studios.  A whale watching trip and visit to the Whale Museum in Friday Harbor caps the week.
